Like all good mysteries, the story of the “Queen Pearl” is an improbable tale. Although the paper trail of the pearl, which would confirm its identity, has not yet been fully established, after nearly a decade of searching links of london silver, Sunday is fairly certain that the missing link to New Jersey history has been rediscovered. “When I first heard about the pearl 10 years or so ago, I thought it was just so fascinating,” says Sunday, a 54-year-old artist and Paterson native. “I started to look for it, to research it, and always kept my ears up. So I thought, why not? … It’s an important thing for this region that something so valuable and so beautiful could come from here.”
